Alkarim Nasser Named 2020 Driver of the Year

June 10, 2021

United Petroleum Transports (UPT) is proud to announce that Albuquerque Independent Contractor, Alkarim Nasser, has been named our 2020 Driver of the Year.
Karim was awarded UPT’s highest honor during our annual Awards Celebration on Friday, January 29, 2021. He was one of twelve UPT professional drivers that were nominated for this award. Each of the nominees are great representatives of this company who have proven their commitment to safety and exceptional customer service. This is Karim’s second time being nominated and his first time winning.
Karim has been with UPT for 14 years and is a former Driver of the Year nominee. He immigrated to America from East Africa in 1997 and quickly found success as a professional driver. He lives in Albuquerque, NM with his wife, Safina, and daughter, Zayka, 14. Safina was able to be with Karim when UPT President and CEO, Greg Price, and his son, COO, David Price, surprised him with the Driver of the Year trophy and a gift of $18,000 in cash and prizes.
“It’s always one of the highlights of the year to be able to present the Driver of the Year award,” UPT President and CEO Greg Price said. “Karim is such a great man, and we are so blessed to have him as a part of our professional driver family.”
Many of our customers, vendors, and friends donated gifts to be included in the overall prize, and we are thankful for their support. Normally, we hold an in-person awards banquet, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we held the event virtually this year. The entire presentation is available to watch on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/drive4upt.
